The now bankrupt German airline Air Berlin began to auction off its entire stock at an auction house in Essen on Monday. Interested parties can bid on items such as life jackets, food trolleys, seats, and wine glasses. The auction is in place to help recuperate some costs for outstanding bills. CEO of Dechow Auctions Jan Broker explained that the auctioning process was multi-layered and whilst there were some times that were suitable for everyone, such as the Air Berlin chocolate hearts, other items were "solely aimed at qualified personnel". For example some items are suitable for "airlines and maintenance companies". Air Berlin used to be the second largest German airline after Lufthansa, however after years of financial trouble it filed for insolvency in August 2017, and ceased all o...

There's a sales crisis in the European auto industry. The pressure is on, and the prices for used cars, too, are falling. ▶ Check out my gear on Kit: https://kit.com/MaikuWong Oct 19, 2017 - Prague, Czech Republic So I heard that there was an abandoned airport in Berlin that was worth exploring. So I thought it would be fun to check that out on my way between Prague and Stockholm. Turns out it's only the runway that is abandoned. It's now a national park for anyone to run around. The airport buildings are still in use by German military and police forces, so it's not the best place to start sneaking around. It's a fun place to board around with the Boosted Board, Runways are generally 2km so it's also a great place to drain the battery of the board as well. Music: Grimelabinc
Experience the drama of the auction house as five bidders battle it out for Gerhard Richter’s desolately beautiful Iceberg. Painted in 1982 it is the largest of only three Iceberg paintings Richter based on photographs taken during a journey through the icy straights of Greenland in 1972. The painting lead a stellar night for post-war German art in what overall was the third highest total ever for a Sotheby’s London Contemporary Sale. Hundreds of African community members in Berlin rallied outside the Libyan Embassy on Saturday to protest against slavery in Libya. The demonstrators demanded an end to enslavement, torture, rape and murder of black people in the north African country. An Ethiopian demonstrator, Gizaw, said, "to stop this situation German [sic] has to intervene, EU has to intervene, England, Britain has to intervene and stop financing these criminals in Libya.” The protest was prompted by last week’s footage of sub-Saharan Africans being sold at slave auctions for as little as $400 (€335). http://www.euronews.net/ Germany easily sold just over four billion euros of 10-year government bonds in its first auction of the year on Wednesday. Along with the pick-up in demand -- compared to the last auction in November -- Berlin was able to offer a lower rate of interest to investors. It dropped to 1.93 percent from 1.98 percent for the previous sale. Analysts were not that impressed. "From a relative value perspective, the bond was expensive compared to the German curve," said DZ Bank rate strategist Michael Leister.
