Adolf Hitler's telephone, recovered by a British officer from the ruins of the Fuhrerbunker in Berlin, is described by its owner. The telephone will be offered at auction by Alexander Historical Auctions on February 18, 2017.
Adolf Hitler's personal telephone, which he allegedly used to order scores of people to their deaths, was presented at the Alexander Historical Auctions ahead of the auction bid in Chesapeake City, Maryland, Wednesday. The "most destructive weapon of the World War II" as described by the auctioneer Bill Panagopulos was recovered in May 1945 from the Fuehrerbunker (leader's bunker) in Berlin. The phone was reportedly gifted to the British officer Brigadier Ralph Rayner in 1945 by Soviet soldiers. Rayner was among the first non-Soviet soldiers to enter Hitler's bunker. Following the death of Rayner in 1977, the phone was inherited by his son Ranulf Rayner, who currently resides in the United Kingdom. The phone, which was made by Siemens, was originally black but was painted red for Hitler...
